On January 20, 2012, Dr. Chris Jensen retired from Health Integrity after decades of service to the organization. Dr. Jensen was an icon to the Delmarva Foundation organization and he will be missed by all of JDS staff and me personally. JDS is deeply indebted to Dr. Jensen. He was a strong advocate for JDS as a partner in their fight against fraud waste and abuse in Federal healthcare programs as well as a mentor in building the organization we at JDS enjoy today.
In 1995, Dr. Jensen and Sandy Love had a vision to expand Delmarva’s program integrity work by including our JDS team as well as other valued partners in an effort to win the Part D Medicare Integrity Contract at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Upon winning that contract, Dr. Jensen and Sandy organized the team to expand and win bids for the Medicare ZONE Integrity and the Medicaid Integrity Contracts, all of which has been a major success under their guidance. Dr. Jensen’s leadership and strength will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
Also on January 20, 2012, Shirley Mandrel retired. Shirley was Dr. Jensen’s administrative assistant and right arm of Dr. Jensen’s leadership. Shirley’s warm heart and bright smiles will be missed as well by all.
